Southeastern Grocers will launch its inaugural stand-alone WDs Wine, Beer and Liquor store Wednesday at the Miramar Center shopping plaza.
The store at 4472 Hendricks Ave. — between historic San Marco and Lakewood — is the first in Winn-Dixie's Southeast footprint, officials with Southeastern Grocers, the supermarket's parent company, have said.
The grand opening is at the heart of a series of events marking the store's opening.
A drive-thru community event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the store's parking lot will kick off the festivities.
The first 100 cars to arrive Tuesday will receive free, exclusive WDs merchandise such as reusable totes, flight boards, wine and beer glasses and gift cards — while supplies last.
Drive-thru attendees also will receive coupons that can be redeemed at the WDs grand opening, which is 9 a.m to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

WDs will offer more than 1,700 fine red, white and sparkling wines, including 700 imported varieties and a mix of luxury and rare offerings, the company said in a news release.
Other amenities include a blast chiller capable of chilling any bottle of champagne or wine in less than two minutes and a wine tasting station with free samples of 10 varieties to taste and discover.
A "Massive Beer Cave" will showcase more than 500 varieties, including 73 Florida craft beers and 22 First Coast-area beers such as Intuition Ale Works, Veterans United Craft Brewery, Bold City Brewery, Ruby Beach Brewing Co. and Mocamma Beer Company.
The extensive selection of more than 1,400 spirits will include bourbon, scotch, tequila, rum, vodka, cognac and more.
Among the local distillers to be featured are Citrus Distillers, Burlock and Barrel, City Gate Spirits, Two Titmice Vodka, Noble Coyote Mezcal, Grey Matter Distilling and Marlin & Barrel Distillery.
Company officials have said WDs is designed to offer customers a unique interactive shopping experience.
In addition to wine, beer and liquor, customers will be able to choose from more than 70 specialty cheeses as well as multiple fresh meats, more than 45 dips and spreads plus a variety of crackers, chips and toast to create a custom charcuterie board.
There also will be fresh seasonal produce, a candy shop and multiple desserts.
A mixology section will showcase a full range of mixers and utensils to make craft cocktails.
In addition, a humidor will be stocked with 40 premium cigar selections from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Honduras. The cigars will be top brands tailored to meet the tastes and preferences of the smoker, according to the news release.
The store's opening will include other community celebrations from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
