Independent MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston Randy Hillier made a series of social media posts on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 falsely blaming “domestic terrorism” and “shorting (of) the food supply” for an empty meat cooler at the Smiths Falls Walmart.

“Smiths fall’s (sic) Walmart, January 24 2020 (sic). Trudeau is engaging in domestic terrorism as he shorts Canada’s food supply and silent @fordnation is his accomplice,” said Hillier on his Twitter account. Hillier later indicated he meant 2022. The attached photo shows an aisle of empty meat coolers. While partially obscured by the angle of the photo, the photo also captures posted signs which, when enhanced, appear to state: “DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES OUR MEAT COOLERS ARE CURRENTLY DOWN. PLEASE SEE AN ASSOCIATE FOR PRODUCT.”

Via telephone, the Walmart store confirmed that the empty coolers were a result of malfunctioning equipment, not supply chain issues.

Store Assistant Manager Josh (last name withheld) clarified, “The sign is correct, we’ve a got a back area totally full of product, we’re just waiting for a tech to get in and fix it, and the product will go right back out.”

“The recent extreme cold, that has kind of messed up the refrigeration units…but it should be back up and running in the next day or so,” he further explained.

He also pointed out that, in addition to the explanatory sign, there was another smaller display cooler immediately adjacent to the malfunctioning cooler, which was filled with an array of meat packages.

To date this year, there have been no verifiable food supply chain issues to grocery stores in the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston area, with the exception of minor delays caused by the significant snowfall the region experienced on Monday, Jan 17, 2022.

Think of the innocent and gullible people he has influenced as an anti-vaxxer. How many lives has he cost so far? Time for him to just go away.

He is an idiot! How did he ever get elected to anything!
