A new Hawaiian poké restaurant called Pokemoto has opened in the former Quizno’s space at 550 N. Webb Road.
Pokemoto is part of a chain based out of Connecticut. This is their first location in Kansas. The restaurant offers Hawaiian poke bowls you can customize with different proteins, toppings and sauces. They’ll also offer boba teas as well.

I was invited to get a sneak peek for readers. In full transparency, this invitation included complimentary meals for my party. So instead of giving a full-blown review, I wanted to cover what we had and give you some visuals on what the dishes look like. These types of situations are entirely different from an average visit with corporate on hand for training and free meals certainly can subconsciously skew things.
Like many restaurants of its kind, you can choose from a preset meal with all the proteins, toppings and sauces chosen from you or you can create your own.
We always go with create-your-own. A regular size meal with 2 scoops of proteins runs $13.99 while a large bowl with 3 scoops will cost you $15.99. At the moment, they only had bottled drinks as their fountain soda was currently on delay for delivery.
One thing we did notice, and this is completely subjective, but their proteins were cut in larger chunks. The salmon were nice and plump. The problem it caused was there was so much rice and other toppings to go around, it made for less salmon to go around. We provided feedback to their staff that having the salmon cut up in smaller chunks would help give more salmon to go around in every bite.
Here’s a quick reel on what you can expect from Pokemoto.
Pokemoto is now open and celebrates their grand opening on Thursday, Sept. 22 with free samples.
